Rhydycroesau Hall Committee

ALL SYSTEMS "GO"! Rhydycroesau Hall's long awaited refurbishement has begun! Ray Pinder, Chair of the Hall Management Committee signs the contract with local builder Iwan Jones of IR Jones, Llansantffraid, whose tender was successful, witnessed by David Lloyd, Chair of the Building Sub-Committee.

Feburary 20th is the start date: after years of planning, negotiating, fundseeking and fundraising, it now seems to be all worth while. And will enable the community to have a new function room, much needed enlarged toilet facilities, new kitchen and foyer, not to mention disabled facilities, including a lift which will give access to the first floor area. There will also be improved heating.

The original hall will remain intact, as requested by the Pantomine Group, and now that the curtain has come down on this year's pantomine, Pinocchio, work can commence on the new scheme. Completion will be in time for 2007 rehersals.

All functions have temporarily ceased until completion of the new hall, which has been financed by The Big Lottery, Defra and Wren, with contributions from Garfield Weston, Oswestry Borough Council and many private donations.
