Good4Mind is the product of a wealth of experience in academic study, training, business management and personal struggle.

It was after experiencing debilitating stress and anxiety, brought on by the pressures of running a publishing company, that founder Catherine Waterfall took to mindful meditation as a coping mechanism. The results were eye-opening, and in 2014 she embarked on a mindfulness-based stress-reduction course that led to a personal awakening.

Two years later she went on to train as a mindfulness teacher at Bangor University, before adding a year and a half's worth of counselling skills to her list of qualifications. Throughout that time she has and continues to practise mindfulness daily.

Fully insured, DBS-checked and a qualified first-aider, Catherine undergoes continuous professional development with ongoing training in the likes of mental-health awareness, safeguarding skills, mindfulness self-compassion and silent meditation retreats.

Aside from formal training, Catherine understands the pressures of modern life, having worked at the sharp end of publishing since 1997. After working in London for several years as a journalist at IPC - publisher of Country Life at the time - she co-founded a regional magazine publishing company in 2003, working as an editor while also managing a sizeable team of employees and being responsible for many of the company's day-to-day business operations.

In her spare time, Catherine enjoys running, yoga and is an amateur triathlete. She also volunteers for Age Cymru (formally Age Concern) and mental-health charity Ponthafren.
